We’re excited to share plans for our FREE summer meal program known as SUN Meals!!
Union County Public Schools will offer traditional hot meals Monday-Friday
OR 7 days worth of cold meals to go (SUN Meals to Go) on Thursdays in June.
Here are the details of each format and how to sign up:
TRADITIONAL HOT MEALS
SUN Meals (Hot Breakfast and Lunch) are for anyone age 18 and under and will be available Monday-Friday at Morganfield Elementary School Cafeteria or Union County High School Cafeteria on Monday, June 1 - Friday, July 17.
*Note: Both sites are closed on Friday, June 19 to observe the Juneteenth Holiday.
*MES will be closed June 29 - July 3
*UCHS will be closed June 25 - July 9
SUN MEALS TO-GO
SUN Meals To-Go are available for anyone age 18 and under who cannot attend a traditional site during the week or prefers a weekly bundle over daily hot meals.
Each pickup includes 7 days worth of food, featuring a combination of shelf-stable and frozen meals.
- Pickup Days: Every Thursday in June (June 4, 11, 18, and 25)
- Pickup Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
!!!YOU MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE to receive SUN Meals to GO!!!
Youth or Guardian may pick up meals at one of two locations:
- Sturgis Elementary School, 1101 N Grant St, Sturgis, KY. Pickup at the bus drop-off behind the school.
- Uniontown Elementary School, 401 Walnut St, Uniontown, KY. Pickup at parent drop-off behind the school.
No one will be allowed to receive both traditional hot congregate meals and cold non-congregate meals to go. You must select one or the other.
Meals are given to all children 18 & under regardless of need. We encourage all families with children 18 & under to sign up and take advantage of these free summer meals!
