Leave Your Mark: UCHS Multipurpose Building Reaches Key Milestone

Brave Nation, exciting progress is being made at Union County High School! Construction on our new multipurpose building is progressing steadily. In fact, we’re nearing a significant step in the project: the installation of the final structural beam next week!

To celebrate this milestone, we are giving you—our students, staff, and community supporters—a chance to literally leave your mark on the building's history.

We invite you to sign the final beam before it is permanently set in the structure.

  • When: Tuesday, January 20, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: UCHS Upper Parking Lot

School staff will be on hand with special pens to facilitate the signing. You may stop by any time during the signing window to participate.  The following day, the final beam will be installed on the structural frame, marking an important point of transition in the building process.

After the final beam setting, work will begin on enclosing the building envelope, starting with installation of the roofing system.  Once fully completed, the 29,000 square foot facility will feature a dedicated wrestling training area, a student weight room, and a high-bay fieldhouse for multiple student groups and activities. Completion of the multipurpose building is expected in Fall 2026.

This facility is a key part of a larger construction project that also includes:

  • Major renovations to the vocational center
  • Construction of a new maintenance shop
  • Addition of new tennis courts

We’re so excited about the positive impact this project will have on our students and community! We hope you’ll celebrate our progress with us by participating in the final beam signing of our multipurpose building.  This is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting signature on a facility that will serve Union County students for generations to come!
