Union County Board of Education Approves Continued Pay Raises for All Employees

All Union County Public Schools (UCPS) employees are set to receive another significant pay raise for the upcoming school year.  The Board of Education officially approved the measure Tuesday night with the adoption of the 2024-2025 Salary Schedule. For the fifth time in the last six years, all UCPS employees will benefit from a 2% pay raise, bringing the total salary increase to 10% over this time period.

In addition to this year’s 2% raise, all certified employees will receive a guaranteed step increase of at least 1% based on their total years of experience. All teachers will also remain eligible for the $2,500 Elevated Educator stipend, awarded every 5 years at milestone years of service, as well as the Veteran Mentor stipend for mentoring new teachers. Classified staff members will also receive competitive market pay increases.

These pay raises are made possible by increased state funding for education in the latest budget bill and the district’s responsible long-term management of finances.  "We have a desire and an ongoing commitment to reward the hard work and dedication of our incredible staff,” noted Superintendent Patricia Sheffer. “We are thankful to be able to continue our tradition of investing in our employees' futures and the quality of education in Union County."
