Union County School Bus Drivers Receive Pay Increase in New Year

Union County Public Schools bus drivers are now some of the highest paid school bus drivers in the area, thanks to a significant pay increase approved by the Board of Education.  Last month, board members approved to raise pay for all drivers by approximately $2 per hour, effective January 1st, 2024.  The starting wage for bus drivers is now $18 per hour and increases with years of experience.  Pay for substitute bus drivers has also increased to $18.50 per hour.

The school district has several openings for bus drivers and is looking to hire now.  To apply, you may visit the application website at bit.ly/ApplyUnionCounty or call the Central Office at 270-389-1694.

Superintendent Patricia Sheffer emphasized, “Our bus drivers are critical to our district’s mission, and we’re happy to be able to make their pay more competitive.  Our transportation department is a great team, and we look forward to welcoming more team members who will further enhance the quality customer service we provide every day.”
