SALARY
All Union County Board of Education employees are paid on an adopted salary schedule. The salary schedule is in effect for the fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
PAY DATES
Pay dates are the 15th and 30th of each month. Should either date fall on the weekend or holiday, the pay date will be the last day worked before the 15th or the 30th.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Medical insurance is provided for all full-time employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional coverage for their children, spouse, or family.
HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT
An employee who waives his or her health insurance will be eligible to participate in a State Sponsored Health Reimbursement Account.
401K PROGRAM
Employees are given the option to participate in a 401K deferred compensation program.
SECTION 125 – PRE TAX CONTRIBUTIONS
Employees are given the option to participate in tax-sheltered annuities through payroll deductions. There is also an opportunity to put employee pretax dollars in a Flexible Spending Account or a Dependent Care Account.
DENTAL INSURANCE
Dental insurance for self and family is available for purchase by employee.
LIFE INSURANCE
There is a state sponsored life insurance plan for $20,000 and the Union County Board of Education sponsors a policy for $20,000. Optional and Dependent Coverage is available at employee expense.
TEACHER’S RETIREMENT PLAN
The state of Kentucky provides the Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement Plan with matching funds for teacher contribution. County Retirement is available for classified employees.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
All regular, full-time employees are eligible for tuition assistance to take approved courses toward completion of a planned program of study or to obtain a certificate in a job-related field.
SICK LEAVE
All employees are provided at least 10 sick leave days per year. Sick leave days may be accumulated without limitation if not used.
SICK LEAVE BANK
Union County Board of Education provides its employees the opportunity to participate in a sick leave bank if qualifications are met.
PERSONAL LEAVE
All full-time employees are provided two personal days per year. Unused Personal Days will convert to Sick Days at the end of the year and can be accumulated.
WORKER’S COMPENSATION
Worker’s Compensation insurance is provided for all employees.
UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE
Unemployment Insurance is provided for all employees.
