University of Louisville president Dr. James R. Ramsey was in Union County Wednesday to tout the university and talk with Union County High School students about their futures. Joining Ramsey in his visit were former UCHS graduates Taner Fowler who is a senior at U of L and Ernest Brooks, who is a graduate of the university and now works on Wall Street. County Attorney Brucie Moore, who is a UCHS and U of L graduate and who services on the University's Board of Trustees also addressed the students.

Ramsey noted that the University has a partnership with Union County Schools through the Data Seam program which provides computer power for research to U of L. He thanks the students and school for being part of that program.

In his remarks to UCHS students, Ramsey stressed the importance of a college degree, telling them, "Never has education been more important than it is today." He described the U of L campus and programs and invited students to make a visit to the school which is home to about 22,000 students.
Fowler, Brooks and Moore also addressed the student body relating their U of L experiences and touting the excellence of the University.
In her comments, Moore told students, "Education opens doors for you in your work life, your personal life and in your community life. Because I was able to get an education, it has opened up many doors for me."
