Evan Jackson Begins as Director of Public Relations

Evan Jackson is beginning a new role with Union County Public Schools as Director of Public Relations.  In this role, Mr. Jackson will be responsible for coordinating various services including district-wide communications, media relations, and community engagement.  “I plan to be a bridge to connect our community and our educational programs,” Jackson emphasizes.  To do that, he will focus his efforts on four critical points.

First of all, he plans to inform our community by using a variety of communication channels to share the key stories of what is happening within the school district.  Secondly, he will involve our community in school events and programs.  “Our community members want to be engaged in the educational process; they just need to be invited and shown how,” he says.  Thirdly, he believes we need to invest in our community by coordinating opportunities for students and staff members to give back to Union County through ongoing service learning, work-based learning, and special event planning. Finally, his ultimate goal will be to live up to the district’s mission to inspire the champion within all stakeholders.  He highlights, “Our schools have the potential to be beacons for our community if we will just let our light shine.”

Mr. Jackson has served the last eleven years as principal of Union County High School.  “As principal, I had a front row seat to so many great things our students and staff members achieved every day,” he reflects.  “Now as Director of Public Relations, I have the opportunity to shed light on the many great things happening across our district.”
